Dear Wyoming Range supporters,
As you’ve heard, the Forest Service has put out an updated analysis on the 40,000 acres of contested oil and gas leases in the Wyoming Range. Although it’s been 10+ years, it was worth the wait. The Forest Service has done the right thing by identifying “No Leasing” as its preferred alternative. This is tremendous news and means the Forest Service has heard our voices!
We need your help to ensure this remains the final decision. The Forest Service is accepting public comments until May 23. Submit comments—a simple sentence or two saying why you support no leasing and why the Wyoming Range is special to you—here.
You can also visit and share the online petition we’ve started.
The Forest Service is hosting two public meetings and we encourage you to attend if you can:
Pinedale: Friday, April 29 from 4-6 pm at the Sublette County Library
Daniel: Friday, May 6 from 5-7 pm at the Community Center
Citizens for the Wyoming Range is also hosting events and more information will follow, but for now, please save the date for a screening of a short film about the Wyoming Range’s incredible values and the citizens who have never stopped fighting to protect it.
Thanks for your support. Your patience and support are the reasons we have the right preferred alternative. This is potentially a great outcome for the sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts of our state and all the visitors to Wyoming that enjoy the recreational activities and beautiful scenery that the Wyoming Range offers.
